The Makivik Investment Corporation was established in 1975 to protect the rights, interests, and financial compensation provided for under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Land Claims Agreement (JBNQA).

Established in 1967, la fédération des coopératives du Nouveau Québec (FCNQ) is our parent company, representing nearly 90% of all residents in Nunavik through fourteen local community cooperatives.
